Why is STEM/STEAM education important

1

STEM education is important for future economic growth of a company or a Nation, STEM fields are drivers of economic growth and innovation. They contribute to technological advancements, scientific discoveries, and the development of new industries. By equipping individuals with STEM skills and knowledge, we can foster a skilled workforce that meets the demands of the global economy.

STEAM EDUCATION is fostering bright  career opportunities for a person or a nation, STEM education drives technological advancements and innovations. It prepares individuals to develop and apply new technologies, advancing fields such as robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, and renewable energy. These advancements have the potential to improve lives, enhance productivity, and solve global challenges and hence it’s an opening for a good career opportunity for one.

For an individual, STEM/STEAM education nurtures critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. It encourages individuals to analyse complex situations, think logically, and apply scientific principles to find innovative solutions. These skills are essential for addressing societal challenges and adapting to an ever-changing world.  STEM/STEAM education also encourages innovation and creativity. It fosters an environment where individuals can explore, experiment, and think outside the box. By engaging in hands-on activities and projects based learning, individuals develop their creativity, curiosity, and entrepreneurial mindset.

Moreover, in the 21st century, success is no longer about what to think. To stand out in the future, the next generation have to shape their ways of thinking with creativity and critical thinking skills and act as a problem solver, underpin their ways of working with collaboration and communication skills to become a collaborative problem solver, and master their ways of working using digital transformation and Industry 4.0 and live happily as global professional. This, however, is not what they will learn under ordinary, conventional education systems.

Unlike any other, STEM/STEAM Education is designed to prepare the next generation to learn how to think. STEAM reinforces four critical components called 4Cs: Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration.  STEAM Education teaches students to be a collaborative problem solver and lead their professional mind in the future. These vital skills enable children to become collaborative problem solver and encourage them to become future innovators.  The achievement not only in academic but also in whole area of human development life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership   as critically needed to become global professional in 21st century.

STEAM/STEM inspires young people by engaging them in exciting programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, inspire innovation, and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership to be science and technology leaders and innovators.

STEM/STEAM fields play a critical role in addressing global challenges such as climate change, sustainable development, healthcare disparities, and food security. STEM education equips individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle these complex issues and contribute to finding viable solutions. It empowers individuals to actively participate in shaping the world and enables them to make informed decisions in an increasingly complex and interconnected society.

STEAM/STEM inspires young people by engaging them in exciting programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, inspire innovation, and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership to be science and technology leaders and innovators.

Fostering the next generation of science and technology leaders and innovators who are capable of designing and implementing solutions to many of the world's problems is a real need not only in local scope but in international as well. Young people with STEM degrees are working to develop treatments for diseases, generating ideas for sources of clean energy, sought alternative ways in providing clean water solution and many else. Ultimately, their work will help to improve our lives.   Interest in these areas should be encouraged at a young age, and sustained.  STEM, or STEAM education should be able to provide the kid with challenging and engaging programs that nurture innovative thinkers

One of my favourite teaching tools is robotics, a potential dominant technology in the future. In Robotic design, programming and innovative exploitation, all STEAM aspect as well as teamwork collaboration, creativity and entrepreneurial skills and   social sciences are blended. It promotes the development of systems thinking and problem solving in students mind.  Moreover it is a novel way to provide an opportunity for the unprivileged students to play and learn with tools that that would be unaffordable by them.  This is a golden chance to present attractiveness of science and Technology education and opening their STEAM careers in the future. This approach of education I believe would become an alternative way to reduce poverty, breaking the vicious circle of family poverty of unprivileged students.
